3-Point Triggers for Converting an Acoustic Tom to Electronic
Turn any acoustic tom into a responsive electronic pad—while keeping the look and feel of your drum. This set includes three compact, cone-foam Dual Zone triggers that mount inside the shell and are daisy-chained to a single jack. The 3-point layout evens out sensitivity across the head, minimizes hot spots, and preserves natural stick rebound.
Key features
3-Point sensing (360° coverage): Three cone triggers distribute response evenly across center and edge hits.
Daisy-chained harness: Clean internal wiring with one ¼" TS jack to your drum module.
Low-profile brackets: Fit under standard lugs without interfering with heads, hoops, or muffling.
Mesh or mylar compatible: Works with mesh heads for silent practice or coated/clear heads for hybrid rigs.
Velocity-accurate & rim-friendly: Tuned for wide dynamic range; optional rim contact can be added per module mapping.
Quiet, solid construction: Foam cones and isolated piezos reduce cross-talk and mechanical noise.
What’s in the box
Three (3) internal cone triggers with mounting plates
Pre-wired daisy-chain loom to ¼" jack
Mounting screws and hardware
Quick-start placement guide
Compatibility
Drums: Most 8"–16" acoustic toms (standard depths and lugs).
Modules: Works with popular modules that accept single ¼" trigger inputs (Roland®, Alesis®, ATV®, Pearl Mimic®, etc.). Mapping may vary by brand—use the module’s trigger type closest to Pad/Head or Piezo Head.
Installation (summary)
Remove both heads. Choose three evenly spaced lug positions (approx. 120° apart).
Mount the brackets inside the shell; align cones to lightly touch the batter head once re-fitted.
Route the loom to the included ¼" jack and secure cables to avoid rattles.
Refit head, tension evenly, and connect the jack to your module’s input.
In the module: set trigger type, adjust Sensitivity/Threshold/Scan Time, and fine-tune to taste.
Why it’s better
Uniform feel & dynamics vs. single trigger points
Clean interior install with minimal weight
Hybrid ready: flip between acoustic and electronic by swapping heads or changing module presets
